A river passes through this townland named by the inhabitants Owenakevane or Mountain River. There is also what is called a giants griddle S. of this townland. It is compromised of 5 large stones, 4 of which are placed so as to form a square, and this 5th placed on top. It is also called the Pagan's Altar. Contiguous to this is another, built in the same manner but not near so large, called the little Griddle.
