[Dungimmin Lough]
"Tradition says this Lough contains a crock of Gold, awarded [recte guarded] by some Fairy. Some years ago a man attempted to draw it out by a chain attached to it with 6 white horses and 1 mar. When raised to the surface of the water, the Guardian Fairy broke the chain and the crock sank to the bottom where it now remains. This expedient failed in consequence of 7 white horses not being used, that being the only means by which it could be obtained."
