"“Carrickdrumrusk is another Corporation in the said Barony commodiously seated on the Shannon ruled by a Provost and twelve Burgesses, being now Sir Oliver St. George’s Estate. The Carrick is one of these seats reserved by Queen Elizabeth for a fort from Sir Teig O’Rorke upon passing his his patent for all the County.
