Explanatory note

  • Gaeilge

    the hermitage of Aonghas

Is é Aonghas atá i gceist anseo, de réir an traidisiúin, Aonghas Céile Dé, dalta Mhaolruain Thamhlachta. Is é a chuir Féilire Aonghasa agus Féilire Thamhlachta, mar a thugtar inniu orthu, i dtoll a chéile. Rugadh é in par Cluain Eidhneach (#1427), más fíor. (Féach inter alia Ó Riain, Dictionary of Irish Saints 79; O’Hanlon, History of the Queen’s County 227–230.)

Cf. bf An Díseart (#28490); cf. leis par An Díseart (< Díseart Aonghasa) (#1540) (Lm).
