Eyrecourt
By patent dated 5th and enrolled 18th Feb. 1679, the King, being informed that Mr. Eyre had built a church at Eyrecourt, and brought several Protestant families together, did, in order to promote and encourage an English plantation there, create these lands and others into the manor of Eyre-Court, with 500a. in demesne; power to create tenures; to hold courts leet and baron, and a law-day or court of record; to build a prison; to appoint seneschalls, bailiffs, gaolers, and other officers; to receive all waifs, estrays, fines, &c. to impark 500a. with free warren, park and chace; and to hold a market more on Wednesday, and two fairs more on 29th June and on Thursday after twelfth-day, and the day after each at Eyrecourt.
