Is in Irish as locally pronounced by the natives Murthar, but it’s meaning is not understood by them, nor can I with my present knowledge throw any light upon it.
... The old Church of Murhar is situated on low marshy ground in the townland of Glebe…a “Patron” is annually held here on the 8th September in honor of the Blessed Virgin. OD
