Cluainfada
VI 477-487 To the bishop of Concordia, the abbot of St. Mary's, Clonfert (de Portupuro), in the diocese of Clonfert [the word diocesis has been cancelled], and Cornelius Orodochain, canon of Clonmacnoise (Cluanen.). Mandate to collate and assign to John Omigaid alias Alteriusnacionis, scholar, of the diocese of Meath, who has studied canon law for five years, after he has, as he desires, been made a clerk, the rectory of Cluainfada in the said diocese, value not exceeding 4 marks to a non-resident, void by the death of Richard Ochallam; notwithstanding that the pope has recently [below, f. 168] ordered provision to be made to John of the rectory of Newtown (Villenove) de Feartulach in the said diocese, value not exceeding 6 marks to a non-resident. He is hereby dispensed to hold the said two rectories together for two years, during which time he is to exchange one of them for a benefice compatible with the remaining one; if not, he is to resign that rectory which he obtains first.
