Tá cúpla mionainm ag gabháil leis an áit seo in LS Uí Dhuinn, mar atá:- 1607/8 ‘Iskirre grainsie’, ‘Iskirry gransea’, ‘Iskyrne Gransy’ < Eiscir na Gráinsí “the esker of An Ghráinseach” sa chuid thuaidh den bhaile fearainn seo agus i gcuid de bf Leacach Mór (cf. Ioscarta Failí (?) “the eskers of Failí” faoi bf Gráig an Phollaigh (#28414)).
- Gar dó sin a bhí an áit darbh ainm 1607/8 ‘Feran an muarreduiffe, westward of the said Bater leading [from Castle brake] to Mucluain’ (var. lec. ‘Feran an Muaire Duiffe’ san AL), 1622 ‘Ferringarduff’, 1638 ‘Farrenridderyduffe’, ‘Farrenridderiduffe’ < Fearann an Ridire Dhuibh “the land of the black knight” (féach an nóta faoi bf An Dromainn (#28632) taobh thall den Bhearú). Tá 1607/8 ‘Muaire’, ‘muarre’ truaillithe.
- Deisceart bf An Ghráinseach an lae inniu, mar sin, a bhí i gceist leis an ainm 1607/8 ‘The Grainsagh Land alias Feraine negransie, lying southward of the said Iskirry gransea and reaching to the bogge which is on the south syde of the said Castle’ < Fearann na Gráinsí “the land of An Ghráinseach”, is cosúil (féach LS Uí Dhuinn 40–41).
