Ní raibh bunús dá laghad ag Seosamh Laoide ‘Imeach’ a mholadh in Post-Sheanchas I (1905) — deir sé in Post-Sheanchas II (1911) gurbh é a bhí ann ‘buille fá thuairim ó ainm atá i litriughadh an tSacsbhéarla’ (sin é is brí leis an nod ‘[B.]’). Ach ghlac Oifig an Phoist leis an bhfoirm sin agus bhí sé fós le fáil in eagrán 1971 de Eolaí an Phoist , in ainneoin go raibh an fhoirm oifigiúil thuas, atá bunaithe ar thaighde cuimsitheach, socraithe in Ainmneacha Gaeilge na mBailte Poist (1969).
Mionainmneacha ar an léarscáil:

Luann Mag Eochagáin 1638c ‘capella S. Joannis Baptistæ de Imo’ i measc ainmneacha teampall eile sa bharúntacht seo (Dinnseanchas II 31).
