Explanatory note

the tillage-plot of the clerk, cleric?
Is cosúil nach bhfuil aon bhaint ag an sloinne Ó Cléirigh leis an gceantar seo. Ní féidir moladh an Donnabhánaigh Ceapach na gCléireach “…of the clerks, clerics” a chur as an áireamh, cé go mb’fhéidir go mbeifí ag súil le réadú ní ba shoiléire ar -ach an ghinidigh iolra san fhianaise ó lár an 18ú haois.
Maidir le 1805 ‘Capana-’ ar léarscáil Cahill cf. ‘Capanarush’ aige le haghaidh bf Ceapach an Rois (#28312). Is cosúil nach ionann an bf seo agus 1614 ‘Cappenicleragh’ in Inq. Lag. (La) 4 Jac. 1, ionchoisne a tógadh i ‘Maryborough’.
