"Pinkman: Fertach = A place of graves. Feart, means a trench, a grave. It was originally a pagan term, but it came to be often adopted by the early Irish Saints. Compare Fearta-Fer-Feic, the old name of Slane on the Boyne. Feartach – feart, and the cumulative suffix ‘ach.’ "
