"Pinkman: Doire-Uí-Dhuibh (Doire-duibhe) = O’Duff’s oakwoood. The River Duff flows along by this townland. This might point to Doire-Duibhe as the more correct Irish form (Derryneduffe – Inquisition 18 June 1661). Still O’Donovan gives Doire-Uí-Dhuibh. There is a Doire-Dubhthaigh mentioned in the Annals of Loch Cé under the year 1390, but the context shows that the place was in the Parish of Oughteragh (Ballinamore). This name is now obsolete. "
