"Pinkman: There are three townlands named Drumduff in Co. Leitrim…Drumduff in Killinmummery Parish, on the borders fo Leitrim and Sligo. This is made Druim-Duibhche, ridge of the vat or kieve[sieve?]. Dabhach, dubhach, a large open hoped tub or vat. A large tub with two handles (O’Donovan). The term was often applied to a place, that had a hollow with some resemblance to a vessel of this kind. (Compare, Joyce, Place-names, Vol. II, page 410). "
