(‘E. of the Shannon and prob in Muinter Eóluis.’) The lake in question (Claonloch, q.v.) is now Rinn L. in par. Cloone, bar. Mohill, Co. Leitrim. The castle of Leac Dhearg was prob. on the same site as the later Rinn Castle, on a peninsula in the lake. Claonloch 1247. Milid Mac Gosdelb do gabail Fedh Conmaicne 7 crannoc Claenlocha. (Not identified). Rinn Lough in par. Cloone, bar. Mohill, Co. Leitrim is named ‘Clain Lough’ on the DS par. map, and ‘L.Clain’ on Hib.Del. There are several small islands on the lake."
