the third of Lobhaois
Lobhaois -- sloinne, is dócha. Gort an Lobhaoisigh, 'the field of An Lobhaoiseach', ceann de na foirmeacha in Civil Survey (‘Gortane Lewesie'), de réir dealraimh. Is léir freisin go mbíodh Fearann Lobhaois, 'the land of Lobhaois', ag malartú le Trian Lobhaois sa 17ú haois (e.g. 1657 'Trinelewis al. Farrenlewis', Down Survey; 1660c 'Farrenlewis al. Tryenlewis', Book of Survey and Distribution; etc.) - English
the third of Lobhaois
Lobhaois -- probably a surname. Gort an Lobhaoisigh, 'the field of An Lobhaoiseach', seems to be one of the forms found in Civil Survey (‘Gortane Lewesie'). Also, it is clear that Fearann Lobhaois, 'the land of Lobhaois', was interchangeable with Trian Lobhaois in the 17th century (e.g. 1657 'Trinelewis al. Farrenlewis', Down Survey; 1660c 'Farrenlewis al. Tryenlewis', Book of Survey and Distribution; etc.)
