the small field
Is cosúil go raibh Goirtín Uí Ghráda (?) tráth ar an gcuid den bf i bpar. Cill Íde (cf. 1655 'Gorteeneigrady', Civil Survey) agus Goirtín Uí Ghiolláin ar an gcuid i bpar. Maigh Thamhnach (cf. 1660c 'Gorteenigillane', Acts of Settlement and Explanation) - English
the small field
It seems that the name Goirtín Uí Ghráda (?), 'the small field of Ó Gráda', once referred to that part of the townland contained in the parish of Cill Íde / Killeedy (cf. 1655 'Gorteeneigrady', Civil Survey) while Goirtín Uí Ghiolláin, 'the small field of Ó Giolláin', referred to the portion in the parish of Maigh Thamhnach / Mahoonagh (cf. 1660c 'Gorteenigillane', Acts of Settlement and Explanation)
