The Old Chapel from which this parish derived its name was in the townland of Glebe and is now destroyed to the very foundations. It was 36 feet in length and 18th in breadth.... A Pattern" was held at this chapel every year on the 11th of June till the year 1798 when it was abolished ....the patron of the parish is said to be St Clement"
