"Pinkman: Achadh-na-gcolpa = Field of the heifers. Colpa means a full grown animal of the horse or cow kind but, according to Joyce, it originally meant a three year old heifer, and in this sense it is to be understood in local names. Heifers’ field is an old local rendering of this name. "
