"Pinkman: Leicean-na-Raithnighe = Ferny hillside. Leicean is a form of leaca, or it may be the dative case of leaca, that is used here. The townland lies about one mile to the east of Glenade Lough, and in Killasnet Parish. There is a rock at the east side of this townland, where, tradition says, Mass used to be celebrated during Penal times. The rock is named Screag-na-hAltóra. It is said, too, that children, who were not baptized, were buried convenient to this spot."
