[Leiter]
"a little to the southward of the mill is a large ash tree planted in the centre of a sphere formed by the junction of its roads. It's asserted that many years ago two persons having a difference relative to who was the ablest marksman, one of them buried his own son to the neck in the ground, placed an egg on his head, retired to a certain distance point and split the egg to pieces. He challenged the other to do likewise but he declined. He then planted the tree in the hole made for the boy's body. Others assert that Oliver Cromwell reviewing his troops on a [.]ime, stood here." [Desc. Rem.];
