Tagraíonn an tAthair Mac Erlean do “Séamus mac Risdeird do Barra d’éag a nGort na sgeithe san mbliadhain ... 1681” (Ó Bruadair II 240) agus tuairimíonn gur seanfhoirm de chuid na háite thuas í Gort na sgeithe (ibid III 261). Bíodh go bhfuil Lyre (Barry) (I 190.14) suite i ngiorracht mhíle slí siar ón áit seo, bheadh sé díomhaoin tabhairt faoin dá áit a ionannú ’cheal fianaise níos sainiúla.
