Explanatory note

  • Gaeilge

    the tree, upper

Is ionann an baile fearainn seo agus an chuid iartharach den aonad ar tugadh 1/4 of Creene [sic] air ar léarscáil barúntachta an Down Survey. Faightear tagairtí i bhfoinsí eile do Ceathrú na Craoibhe (1608 Carrownecreve Survey Ulst. Leathanach: 173), a dtagraíonn don aonad mór seo freisin de réir dealraimh. (JÓG, 07 Eanáir 2026)

  • English

    the tree, upper

This townland forms the western part of the land unit named as 1/4 of Creene [sic] ón the Down Survey baronial map. There are also references to Ceathrú na Craoibhe (1608 Carrownecreve Survey Ulst. Leathanach: 173) in other sources which would also seem to refer to this larger unit. (JÓG, 07 January 2026)
