'Lt. Fenwick obtained some small specimens of lead ore from a brook 1600 South East of the Mill pond near the mering of Upper Crevery at the Road. This town contains 41.3.25 acres 1/2 of which are cultivated, the rest wood and bog. Belongs to Col. Knox & held for the Kings' life and 31 years at a rent of 16.0.2...' 'Note: I visited this spot said to exhibit a vein of lead but could not see any appearance of it. Wm Lancey I.R.E. 1834.
