Ba le Muintir an tSionnaigh an t-aonad talún seo mar a léirítear in Inquisitiones Ultoniæ, Appendix (1609): ‘the quarter of Ffarremonitretony belongeth to the sept of the Tomies [sic, Muintir an tSionnaigh]’ in. land of the sept of An Sionnach
This land unit was in the possession of Muintir an tSionnaigh, as described in Inquisitiones Ultoniæ, Appendix (1609): ‘the quarter of Ffarremonitretony belongeth to the sept of the Tomies [sic, Muintir an tSionnaigh]’ The surname Mac an tSionnaigh is very common in this area in the anglicised form Tinney.
