Castle Drum
About three quarters of a mile to the East of this Church (Kilgarrylander) stood the Castle of Castle Drum said to have been erected by the Moriarties. Nothing remains of it now but a heap of rubbish overgrown with grass. Tradition says that it was taken by Cromwell and given to one of the Moriartys.

Caisleán na Droman
An Seabhac: Árd beag talmhan ann agus bonn an chaisleáin bhig. Is ann a bhí caisleán nó tigh an Mhuircheartaigh. Treibh iad na Muircheartaigh a bhí tábhachtach san ionad san agus gur aca a bhí tiarnas talmhan agus údarás beag dá réir, anuas go dtí an 17ú céad sa phar. seo agus taobh thiar d’Abha na Mainge! ... Níl ach ionad an chaisleáin anois ar eolas.
