Drumreilly, the road S. to Carrigallen crosses the Yellow r. "

"• Nóta faoi ‘beal atha doire dubain’ in ARÉ: Beal-atha-Doire-Dubhain, i.e. mouth of the ford of the oak-wood of Duane, a man’s name; it is called Beol-atha-Dairi-Dubhthaigh in the Annals of Connaught, and simply ath doire dubháin in the Dublin copy of the Annals of Ulster. The name is now obsolete. It was evidently the name of a ford on the stream of the Abhainn bhuidhe, in the parish of Oughteragh, whence the MacKiernans and Clann Murtough Muimhneach O’Conor were driven by O’Rourke, who chased them as far as the Breifnian hills, in the barony of Tullyhunco.
