"Pinkman: Cor-ghar = Short or small round hill. There is a Corgar in Ballinamore Parish, one mile North East of the town… and there is Corgar townland in Mohill Parish, west of the road from Gorvagh Church to Kesh…. Strangely enough on this name in Mohill Parish O’Donovan writes “Cor-gar is the local name. Cor is a pit, or a round hill, and gar is mould, bog stuff.” Though I cannot unearth the word, gar, with this meaning in Dineen, I find that O’Donovan gives it in the supplement to O’Reilly’s dictionary, and O’Donovan uses it again in interpreting another name, Killygar, in this County. There is a narrow belt of bog in this townland but there is, too, a rather small-sized round hill. "
