"Pinkman: Lios-Dáice = Fort of the tribe Dáice, of or belonging to a tribe (O’Reilly). This is O’Donovan’s rendering of the name, and it may be that some member of an outside tribe built the fort and settled there. See Lisdadanan above. Compare though, Kildalkey in Meath which in one of the Irish Charters in the Book of Kells is written Cill-Delga, Delga’s Church. It may be that the personal name, Delga, is in this name, Lios-Delga. The Down Survey writes the name Lisdowkia and a Royal Commission Report of 1821 has Lisdawkiagh, alias Lisdromkeigh. These forms are not unlike the Irish, Lios-dá-Chaoch, fort of the two blind men. "
