"Pinkman: Críonach = Dry or decayed wood, withered branches, things dry and rotten with age. The term is applied to places that contain such material. There is Creenagh on the south shore of Roscunnish Lough… From an Inquisition taken at Carrowdrumroosk (Ck.-on-Shannon) 3rd March 1620. It appears that “Carrowcrinagh” formed part of the Termon lands of Cloone. This seems [sic] Crinagh or Gortletteragh Parish (now). "
