"Pinkman: Ros-Chonais = Conas’s wood or point of land. Conais is a very old personal name. Compare Both-Conais, Conas’s hut or tent, (Four Masters, AD 850) and Árd-Conais, (Hogan, Onomasticon, page 39). And Cluain-mic-Conais (Hogan, P. 267). I think the name sometimes appears in the surname of one branch of the Cooney family. "
