"Pinkman: Ceathramha-bhuidhe = Yellow quarter (of land) Sometimes aspiration is neglected in anglicising Irish names. (Compare Joyce, Place-names, Vol. 1, p42). Ceathramha means a quarter of land. The old townlands were sometimes divided into quarters, and these quarters were distinguished by adjectives describing their physical features, or by adding the names of their owners or occupiers. Ceathramha is the name, or part of the name of about 800 townlands, or places, in different counties."
