"Pinkman: Lios-an-Uisce = Fort of the water. One of the ways of fortifying the ‘lios’ was to flood the external ditch, when water was available. In many cases the channel may still be traced, leading to a pond or stream. It is a mountain district. The Glenaniff River flows on its south. "
