"Pinkman: Cill-an-Iomaire = Church of the ridge. “Giolla-an-Choimdhe, (servant of the Lord) Mac Mughroin, Erenagh of Cill-an-Iomaire died.” Four Masters, AD 1362. ”Templum de Kill-an-Iomaire collapsum a magistro Thoma mac-an-oglaoich instauratur.” Four Masters, Note, AD 1376 “The story which the people relate to account for this name,” writes Dr. O Donovan, “is as false and ridiculous as that which is related to account for Killasnet. It is said that it was disputed a long time whether the Parish of Killanummery belonged to the Diocese of Kilmore or to that of Ardagh, and hence it was called Cill-an-Iomaire, the church of contention.” He adds that he could not discover who was the patron saint of this parish. For a Grant of the Termon lands of Killinummery, see Inquisiton taken at Carrowdromrousk (Carrick-on-Shannon) on the 3rd March, 1620 "
