"Pinkman: Druim-sean-bhoth. Ridge of the old huts or tents. There is Drumshanbo town, and townland…. It is sometimes, wrongly, spelt Drumshambo, but in 1836 O’Donovan characterised this ‘as a modern sham spelling’; Some would derive the name from Druim-sean-bhó the ridge of the old cow. But Druim-sean-bhoth has the authority of O’Donovan, and he collected his information on the spot from intelligent Irish speakers. There is a townland named Drumshanbo in the south of the parish of Gortletteragh. This is called Drumshanbo South on the Ordnance List… It now embraces a number of places that were formerly distinct townlands – Boherroe, Mollycurragh and Lissacapull. These names are fast dying out. Bothar-ruadh, Mala-curraigh, lios-a’-capuill."
