"Pinkman: Druim-guine = Ridge of the wounding. Drumgunny looks very like Druim-gconnaidh, ridge of the firewood and that is the way Joyce construes the name. But O’Donovan, relying on local authority, apparently, makes it Druim-Guine. In the Supplement to O’Reilly’s Dictionary he gives ‘guin’, wounding or mutilating. "
