Historical references
"Pinkman [Clooncalry] Cluain-Calraighe = Meadow of the Calry tribe or sept. There were several tribes name Calry – Cal-raighe, that is, the race of Cal. They were all descended from Lewy Cal, the grand-uncle of Maccon, King of Ireland in the third century. One of these tribes settled in ancient Teffia. Some of this tribe may have migrated to this point, settled here, and left their name on the place."
