"Pinkman: Maol-Ráth = Bare or dilapidated or stripped ‘rath’. Moyleragh, Inquisition 1634. The place lies about one mile and a half north west of the parish church of Bornacoola. It has two divisions – Meelraghnasaggart, Maol-Ráth-na-Sagart, of the priests… and Meelraghnagur, Maol-Ráth-na-gCorr, of the cranes or herons."
