    This townland is situated on the boundary of two parishes. Cf. bf Droim Ing, Co. Louth, on a parish boundary; and bf Dún Ing, Co. Kildare, on the boundary of two baronies. Cf., also, bf An Ing, Co. Clare, which juts out into the sea [? = 'angle'].
