Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
‘the odd, noticeable town?’
Ní léir brí an fhocail corr i logainmneacha. Is dócha go bhfhéadfaí é a mhíniú mar bhaile fearainn a raibh gné neamhghnách éigin ann a sheas amach i gcomparáid leis an cheantar máguaird. - Gaeilge
‘the odd, noticeable town?’
The meaning of the word corr when applied to placenames is unclear. It could probably be explained as a townland that had some unusual feature that stood out in comparison to the surrounding area.
