Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
round hill (drumlin) of birches
Mar is iondúil, tá rian na Gaeilge ar litriú an Commonwealth Survey (‘-behagh’) (1652) os coinne na réaduithe aonsiollacha béarlaithe eile ar an dara heilimint. Tagann sé leis an bhfoirm Ghaeilge ‘…beitheach’ pl:AL (1836) freisin. Tá réadú ar an bh- séimhithe le sonrú sa litriú ‘-ueagh’ (1609). Ba é ‘Cor-báy-yeh’ an fuaimniú áitiúil béarlaithe a taifeadadh sa bhliain 1922.
