    Tá an sloinne seo fianaithe i Co. na Mí, m.sh. ‘LICENCE to Philip Philpot, Robert Cruys clerk of Drumsaury, and John de Steire, to sell wine and English cloth to Irish enemies, and to buy all manner of merchandise from the same, both in time of peace and of war.1 Authorised: By petition endorsed by the justiciar and council, and sealed with the privy seal’ (Patent Roll, 9 Henry VI)

    Phileabód – an Irish form of the Anglo-Norman surname and personal name Philpot. Philpot is a diminutive form of the name Philip. (Cf. Curraghphlibbode / Currach Phileabóid i gCorcaigh.)
