Explanatory note
- Gaeilge
the bald, round-topped hillock of Peadar
Peadar – ainm pearsanta (naomh). Ní raibh Peadar coitianta mar ainm pearsanta i measc na nGael. D’fhéadfaí go n-ainmneofaí an maol seo as Angla-Normannach a raibh an t-ainm air. D’fhéadfaí go dtagrófaí an logainm do láithreach eaglasta fosta.
- English
the bald, round-topped hillock of Peadar
Peadar – personal name (saint). Peadar was not a common personal name among the Gaels. This bald, round-topped hillock may have been named after an Anglo-Norman who bore the name. The placename could also have referred to an ecclesiastical site.
