[Carn]
"Carn House the residence of Mr. Bennison is situated near the south end of the townland; it was formerly the [sic] called Mount Bedel and was the residence of the famous Bishop of that name. Carn Cottage the residence of Bedel Stanford Esqr. and at present occupied by Capt. Clifford . . . There is a large carn of stones 10 chains southwest of Carn House 150 links in diameter with subterreaneous chambers or caves beneath." [Desc. Rem.]
