"The parish church is situated near the N. side of this townland. It is a good modren [sic] building capable of containing 800 people in the church yard. The Protestants inter their dead and in a small grave yard 4 chains S. of the church the R.C. inhabitants inter theirs. Tradition says that Saint Allan or Dallan was killed in this spot. There is not the least vest[..]e of any walls that might lead to suppose there were ever a church or abbey in it." [Desc. Rem.];
