"This name is drawn from old documents and is probably a blundered one, but it must rest on the authority of Mr Conry who knows very little about it. It is probably a blunder for Lisnoy" [OD Nóta]; "meaning?" [pl]; "Thos. Conroy Esq. denies that he ever spelled this Versnoy, because Vesnoy is the only name for which there is any authority. The people never heard of it" [OD Nóta];
