[Omard]
"There are a few good oak stick found in the bog which are used for roofing houses. A very neat R.C. chapel is situated at the south of the townland. It is large enough to accommodate 1,900 persons...There are several forts in the townland, nearly all of which are planted. On the north side of the townland there is a lough (thro' which the parish meering runs)...On the south west side of the lake is an old deer park" [Desc. Rem.];
