[Lavey]
"Bishop land. Proprietor Bishop of Kilmore...The remains of the old church of Lavey is still to be seen in this townland. There is a new church built in 1818 near the old one, in the southern part of this townland near Loughanlea in the year 1835, there was part of a [c]ot dug out of a bog about 15 feet deep 20 feet by 3 its dimensions...the remaining part of it is still in the bog and is supposed to be 20 feet more, as it appears very fast in the bog."
