I then asked about Knockandort. He said he never heard the name until he saw it recently on a poster advertising a sale: he had cut meadow there, and it was always called 'The Bowery' ('ow' as in 'cow'), and if you sent a letter to 'The Bowery, Dunlavin', it would be delivered there. (I lch.56)
