[Rockforest or Magheranraheen]
"This is a forest or demesne...Soil good. This forest is sheltered on the north and west by a group of the Clare Mountains. The forest extends 2 miles from west to east on the road leading from Corrafin to Gort, having part of Lough Rockforest on the north west boundary, and part of Balleeghter Lake on the east boundary...There is an elegant new house called Rockforest House in the demesne, built in 18[2]8 - formerly the residence of proprietor, but now unoccupied in consequence of the annoyance given by [a banditte] styling themselves Terry Alts" [Desc. Rem.];
