Bíodh gur laisteas den Abhainn Mhór agus gur láimh le Coolcarron (Karrygtyrne, supra) atá Ballynoe, b’earráideach a thabhairt le fios gurbh ionann suíomh do Cell Conáin is do Ballynoe ’cheal fianaise cartagrafaí (DS, Hib.Del., Smith Map, SO, DL, SMR) agus de bhrí nach léir comhthéacs eaglasta ar aon cheannn de na foinsí scríofa. Níor scorn leis an mBuachalllach an comhcheangal a dhéanamh, ámh, agus ráiteas thuasluaite an Phaoraigh ina cheann aige, ní foláir: Cill Conain (Ballynoe near Corrin, formerly called Kilconan) (Ó Buachalla 1950 a49) agus arís: ... it is now (Ordnance Survey maps) Ballynoe townland at the north of Carntierna; the old church is still to be seen. (Ó Buachalla 1965 91)

Tugann an Paorach le fios gurbh í Cell Conáin (CrC 179.4) ba sheanfhoirm don áit, a rá: Cill Conain: the present Ballynoe, on [the] S[outh] of [the] Blackwater, near Fermoy. Ballynoe (Newtown) cill is at the N[orth] E[ast] angle of a field on John Barry’s farm.... There are no remains of the church but the site is still remembered ... The cill is situated near the base of Carn Tighearna. (Power 1932 78.40)
